Overview

Your Enterprise embed shows every project and group on a single map. You can also scope that same map down to one project (or a small cluster of nearby projects) — for example to drop a “neighbourhood” map on that project’s own page — and layer Points of Interest (nearby amenities, transit, shops) on top. Both of these are controlled by a handful of parameters added to the end of the embed’s URL. This article covers what each one does, plus how to manage Points of Interest from your dashboard.
These parameters apply to the Enterprise map embed specifically. For deep-linking to a unit or collection on any embed (project, group, or enterprise), see Deep Linking to specific units.

Points of Interest (POIs)

Points of Interest let you pin nearby places — restaurants, transit stops, schools, parks — next to your project pins on the Enterprise map. Each POI shows a custom icon on the map and opens a card with its title, category, description, and photo when clicked.

Managing POIs in the dashboard

  1. Open your Enterprise in the dashboard and go to Settings.
  2. Click the POIs tab.
  3. Under Categories, add a category for each type of place you want to show (e.g. “Restaurant”, “Grocery Store”, “Metro Station”) and upload an icon for it. Categories let every POI of the same type share one icon.
  4. Under POIs, click + Add POI to create one manually — give it a title, pick a category, add a description, and search for its address (Planpoint locates it on the map for you). Or click Import to upload a CSV or Excel file of places in bulk; rows with an address are located automatically, and categories are matched to the ones you’ve already created.
  5. Titles and descriptions can each have translations for every language your embed supports — useful if your POI list was written in one language but your embed serves visitors in several.

Showing POIs on the embed

POIs are off by default on every Enterprise embed — turn them on per embed with:
Add poiDirections=true to also draw a walking/driving route with travel time from a project to its nearest POIs when that project is hovered or selected:
POIs are styled with the same theme and Custom CSS as the rest of your embed. See Custom CSS if you want to restyle the pins or cards beyond the built-in themes.

Scoping the map to specific projects

By default, the Enterprise map shows all of your projects and groups. Use project= to scope it down to one project, or a short list of nearby ones:
To show a small cluster of neighbouring projects on the same scoped map (their pins appear for context, but only the first project’s units are listed), separate names with a comma:
project= matches your project or group’s name (case-insensitive). When it’s set, the map automatically centers and zooms on that project, and Points of Interest (if enabled) are limited to the area immediately around it — see poiRadius below.

Parameter Reference

For center, always use longitude, latitude in that order — not lat/lng. Those two parameter names are reserved for the searchbox’s location filter.

Full-width, map-only embed

Hide the side list entirely so the map fills the embed on its own — handy for a compact “find us nearby” widget on a project page:

Custom map framing

If you want an embed to open already zoomed to a particular area rather than your project’s saved default, combine zoom and center:
